Riverside Blues Band
Riverside Blues Band is a blues band of musically talented teens ranging from ages 15-17 that was formed in July 2016 in Baton Rouge, La. The band is made up of two brothers, Carter Wilkinson (guitar/vocals) and Jack Wilkinson (drums) from Port Allen; Quinn Bankston (guitar/vocals) from Central; and Jacob Hubbs (bass) from Baton Rouge.
These south Louisiana teens, who have been performing on stages in different groups since age 12, have now formed their own guitar driven blues band with influences by Stevie Ray Vaughan, B. B. King, Howling Wolf, Albert King and many other traditional blues legends. Their passion for music and performing on stage drives them in their goal of keeping the blues alive for the next generation of Louisiana music fans.
The band has played at South Louisiana festivals, community fairs, and multiple times at the iconic Teddy's Juke Joint in Zachary, La. They are scheduled to appear at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival in April 2017.
Carter Wilkinson won the T-Bone Walker Blues Fest Junior Showcase Competition at Longview, Tex. in June 2016.The Baton Rouge Blues Society sponsored an appearance by the Riverside Blues Band at the 2017 International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in Memphis, Tenn.
